The museum transports the visitor back to the 1830s when the building was known as the Mount Vernon Hotel, a popular country resort for New Yorkers seeking to escape the crowded city. The eight period rooms are furnished with 19th century decorative arts, & an Orientation Center features changing exhibits on New York history. Museum is closed until Covid-19 conditions have been resolved. We are continuing with zoom programs & walking tours. See our website: mvhm.org
